Welcome to the International Kayak Fishing Association
Mission StatementThe International Kayak Fishing Association (IKFA) is a non-profit educational foundation whose mission is to advocate for the responsible growth of the sport. With education, safety and event support programs, IKFA will foster understanding and enjoyment of kayak and canoe fishing in all environments. IKFA provides a platform for sharing information and ideas between kayak fishermen, manufacturers, retailers and government/legislative bodies.
ActivitiesIKFA serves as an information resource for up-to-date issue assessment and data analysis relevant to kayak fishing. IKFA acts as the custodian of records for fish caught while paddle fishing. IKFA provides accreditation and certification programs for retailers, fishermen and event organizers. All venues for kayak fishing including fresh water lakes, rivers and ponds as well as saltwater inshore and off shore are supported by IKFA.
IKFA promotes respect and protection of the environment, supports conservation of natural resources and the improvement of habitat. Through the strength of common goals within the membership, we make our voice heard on legislative issues that affect access rights to entry points to our fishing grounds, conservation of our resources and education of our participants. |
